Portfolio Concept

This portfolio shows some of the fun stuff I learned and created working through eight months of an online coding bootcamp through CareerFoundry.

Project Goals

Amidst being a husband and father, I am working full time at my day job while looking for junior web developer work to further my knowledge and gain experience in the web development field.

Course Goals

In the beginning of April of this year, I completed the web development course through CareerFoundry. Throught the course I learned about HTML, CSS, Bootstrap Frontend Framework, Javascript, jQuery, AJAX, Ruby Programming Language, Ruby on Rails MVC Framework, User Authentication & Authorization, Stripe Payment Processing, Caching, Git Version Control, and Configuring Heroku.

My Story

I have been interested in coding for quite some time now when I began to tinker with it back when I was making my own websites using template designers like Dreamweaver. (Yes, Dreamweaver of all things...)
Recently, my interest has really been sparked by the type of careers available within web development. I am excited to continue my journey after completing the CareerFoundry web development bootcamp to see where my career will go from there.

FAQs

Web Development has always been something I enjoyed. Similar to playing guitar, it was something that I would find myself coming back to regularly just to play around with and have fun. It brought out a lot of creativity and created challenges for me that I enjoyed scaling, which ultimately led me to continue advancing. Now, I am determined to grow my knowledge in web development in order to offer the customer the most advanced websites available.
Right now, I am working to develop my own style and natural eye for how things are laid out within a website. I hoping my fresh perspective might give me a vantage point to allow new designs to come from the websites I develop.
Right now, ANYONE! People who want to be on this journey WITH me as I grow, learn, develop and refine my craft.
I could probably turn around a website similar to this one with consistency through each page in about two weeks with some wiggle room to work through any errors that come about while I am learning.
